Dive into our world with us!
Erin Rosenblum is a children’s book author, cognitive behavioral therapist, and lifelong animal lover based in Silicon Valley. Growing up in a rural mountain home, Erin was surrounded by wildlife, farm animals, and a household full of warmth and creativity. Those early experiences shaped her enduring love for animals and storytelling, two themes that continue to define her work today.
For more than thirty years, Erin quietly carried a dream of writing children’s books. As a middle school student, she wrote her first story featuring bunnies, discovering a love for imagination and narrative. While the writing came naturally, illustration felt out of reach. Without the resources or connections to find an illustrator, many of her early projects remained unfinished, though the dream never faded.
That dream came full circle decades later when inspiration struck at home. Erin’s rabbit, Peanut Butter, and her parakeet, Donner, developed an unlikely and heartwarming friendship. Their playful bond sparked the idea for a new children’s book series exploring themes of friendship, grief, bravery, and trust. The final missing piece came from her daughter, Aubree, a talented young artist who offered to illustrate the stories. With Aubree’s creativity, the barrier that had once held Erin back disappeared, and together they brought Peanut Butter, Donner, and their circle of animal friends to life.
In addition to writing, Erin has a long-standing career as a cognitive behavioral therapist, helping young adults and professionals navigate anxiety, resilience, and emotional growth. Her professional expertise naturally informs her stories, allowing her children’s books to weave gentle lessons into imaginative adventures.
If you ask Aubree, she won’t call herself an artist and it’s not the identity she talks much about. Yet the evidence tells a different story: she can crochet an entire outfit without a pattern, sew cute stuffed animals for friends, and almost effortlessly, bring a canvas to life with paint. Her creative gifts run parallel to another part of her life: sports. Aubree has spent years competing at a high level while also carrying a GPA far above the average, proof of her determination and discipline.
Aubree’s arch nemesis is time. Between practices, games, schoolwork, clubs, work and friendships, it often feels like there aren’t enough hours in the day to give space to her artistic side particularly when she is illustrating a story for us. Yet, when the chance came to illustrate a children’s book alongside her mom, Aubree said yes. In the quiet in-between moments, she found ways to sketch, paint, and create, adding her own voice to stories that explore friendship, bravery, and wonder.
Her dedication to Peanut Butter and Donner is about weaving creativity into the life she’s already building, proving that artistry isn’t a title she needs to claim, but something that naturally shines through everything she touches.
