Some friendships take time. And a little bravery.
Come along on a journey of two unlikely friends: a shy bunny and a friendly parakeet.
When Peanut Butter, a cautious little bunny, and Donner, a spirited young bird, found themselves rescued into the same home, neither one quite knew what to expect.
They carried their own small fears. They protected their hearts the best they could. But with patience, gentleness, and a song that softened all the sharp edges, a true friendship grew.
Peanut Butter and Donner is their real story: a tender story of healing, courage, and the simple, extraordinary magic of choosing to trust.
Written From a Home Full of Heart, and Healing.
Hi, I'm Erin Rosenblum. I'm a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT), a mother, and the very lucky person who got to share a home with Peanut Butter and Donner. My daughter Aubree and I created this book together. She is the very talented illustrator and animator that brought this story to life and I hope you enjoy it!
Through my work with children and families, I’ve seen how small moments of bravery can shape a lifetime. Watching Peanut Butter and Donner find each other reminded me that real courage doesn't always look bold. Sometimes, it looks quiet. Sometimes, it looks like trying, even when you're scared.
This book was written with all the children (and the grown-ups) who need that reminder tucked into their hearts.
Step Into Their Tender World.
In Peanut Butter and Donner’s home:
- Feelings are safe to name.
- Trust grows slow and sure.
- Bravery looks like patience, softness, and hearts shared while taking safe risks.
Why Peanut Butter and Donner Matters:
Children don't learn bravery by being pushed. They learn it by being seen, by being met where they are, and by being given enough safety to grow.
Peanut Butter and Donner offers young readers (and the grown-ups who love them):
- A model for patient friendship.
- A story that honors big feelings without rushing them.
- A reminder that courage doesn't mean being loud, it means being true.
- A soft place to land for sensitive, shy, and emotionally rich children.
This is a book for every child who needs to hear: You don’t have to be fearless to be brave.
